My landscapes have taken a turn in their colour scheme 🎨 My original plan was to paint them in earthy tones but I just wasn't feeling it. I'm much happier now and feeling like they are finally moving in the right direction. Being open to change and letting my inner emotions guide me always ends up being the righ decision...I just need to trust that and not hold back.

Hi everyone...it's been a long time between posts

Hi everyone...it's been a long time between posts for me. I have been busy working on my new website (online store coming soon!! Watch this space 😁) and taking photos of all my available artwork. I honestly didn't think it would take so long but I am trying to learn how to manage it all myself so I am not always relying on my I.T guy. Going through all of my paintings I have found a few older pieces that have made me want to revisit landscape painting. It's been years since I last painted a landscape and my colour palette has changed...I am really wanting to explore this genre again but this time make them even more bold and colour filled than my earlier landscapes.

Today I have been working out ideas by way of numerous little painting studies before I start on the big canvas I prepared yesterday (did you catch it on my stories?) My goal is for this painting to radiate tranquillity, passion, love, romance... at the same time it needs to be peaceful on the eye. All things I think are super important for artwork destined for the bedroom 🥰 I've think I have decided on what brushes I will use and I have started playing around with the flower placement etc using a soft pastel...I am so looking forward to making a start on the canvas. Sometimes I fall so hard for a painting that I just can't let it go. This is what happened with my big peonie painting. I hung this one in our lounge room just for safe keeping until it sold. As soon as I put it on the wall I knew I was going to have trouble parting with it. By the end of the day it was all over and this piece had found it's place 🥰 Sometimes you just have to surrender to power of art and listen when it speaks to you 💐

The flowers I chose for this one are Roses to symbolise love, Echinacea to symbolise strength and Forget-me-nots to symbolise hope. My beautiful Grandma's name was Eva and she had a lovely rose garden when I was a little girl. You know the kind...with roses that just smell incredible...that heady rose fragrance would fill your senses whenever you were near the garden.
